Our team of highly experienced and competent Solicitors have been admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia. Our Solicitors frequently attend all Local, District and Family Courts within New South Wales.

Our Firm is the convener of the Traffic Offenders Program Broadmeadow. We are also regular volunteers at the University of Newcastle Legal Centre as well as the Hunter Community Legal Centre.

Our Firm’s History

The Firm was initially established by Mr Nicolas Moir.

The Firm enjoyed growth and development in its early years of operation, leading to the formation of a partnership in 2007, between Solicitors Nicolas Moir, Christopher O’Brien and Paul Rosser QC (Queens Counsel).

The formation of the original partnership was recognised in 2009 by the addition of a company trading name. Thereafter, the company became known as ‘Nicolas Moir and Associates Trading as Morelaw Solicitors and Barristers’; ‘Morelaw’ being an acronym for the then principle Directors of the Firm; Moir, O’Brien and Rosser.

2009 saw the addition of two new Solicitors to the team; those being Kristy Winter and Damien O’Brien. With their employment, came a range of new services including Family Law, Commercial Law, Estate Planning, Conveyance and Property Law.

In early 2010, the Morelaw partnership ended with both Nicolas Moir and Paul Rosser moving on to work independently as Barristers within the Newcastle region. The Firm, however to this day, continues to associate with and instruct both Nicolas and Paul in their respective roles in the Criminal Justice System.

In January 2012, a new partnership formed between the now Company Directors of the Firm Christopher O’Brien, Kristy Winter and Damien O’Brien. The Firm was thereafter known as O’Brien Winter Partners.

Following 14 years at Level 1, 196 Maitland Road Mayfield NSW 2304, O’Brien Winter Partners Solicitors and Barristers officially opened the doors to its new premises at Ground Floor 360 Hunter Street Newcastle at 9:00 am Monday the 1st of June 2015.

The Firm continues to grow under the leadership of the Company Directors.
